Root Grinding
Lawns are often infested with surface roots. This typically happens with certain softwood tree varieties like spruces and silver maple trees. When grinding a stump, we recommend also grinding all the roots out so that the homeowner can re-landscape the area or replant grass.
Root grinding is not quite as straightforward as stump grinding so we like to visit the site in person if possible in order to give an accurate bid. Typically homeowners will rake up the wood chips from the root grinding and replace those areas with sod. The result works beautifully and the lawn and landscaping often looks greatly improved.
With trees that have exposed roots and root balls, we can either remove the tree, stump, roots, and rootballs with an excavator or other large piece of equipment or we can simply grind all the exposed root and stump. Usually we have a couple of options available for any given situation.
