Our Story

My name is Mark Hopkins and I live in West Haven, UT (near Ogden) with my wife and 4 kids. I started out cutting trees and grinding stumps for my own rentals. I got more heavily involved after a giant windstorm toppled thousands of trees in the Ogden and Layton metro areas. After this windstorm, I decided to dedicate myself full-time to stump grinding and tree service.

I started my own stump grinding business and named it Utah Stumps as well as a tree service business called Tree Surgeons. Working with trees has been very exciting and fun for me! I love the challenge of working efficiently to get jobs done in a short time and to provide high quality work. I love seeing overgrown trees trimmed and looking sharp. Nothing is more exciting to me than blasting through a stump with my high horsepower stump grinder! I have had many opportunities to work in different lines of work but I chose stump grinding and tree service because I like it so much. Check out our reviews on google.
